The church of Dun-Haut in the heart of Val Dunois

On the edge of the Meuse on one side, the town of Dun-sur-Meuse is overlooked on the other by a hill where the Notre-Dame de Dun-Haut church is located.

Built in 1346 on the hill, it is the only vestige of the citadel of Dun-Haut. Despite its massive shape, it is a jewel of ovigal architecture with very beautiful ribbed vaults inside.

The site, on the heights of the village of Dun-sur-Meuse, offers a very beautiful panorama over the Meuse valley and beautiful walks in the surrounding area.

- The German Cemetery: in September 1914, the Germans set up a large war hospital in Dun-sur-Meuse to accommodate the thousands of wounded from the battlefields of the Meuse and Argonne. Many did not survive, 1664 soldiers rest in the cemetery. The Germans remained in Dun-sur-Meuse until September 1918.

- The Ipoustéguy Gallery: since 2001, the Ipoustéguy Cultural Center has hosted a very important collection of works, including many marbles by the great French sculptor, Jean Ipoustéguy. Born in Dun-sur-Meuse in 1920, he returned after an international career in 2003 to end his days there. He died in 2006 in his native village. A major artist of the second half of the 20th century of international renown, he created many monumental sculptures for public spaces visible in the largest cities in the world.
