Subject: Formal Complaint – Serious Breaches of Service Obligations, Denial of Humanity, and Abusive Business Practices

Dear Sir/Madam, Management

I would like to share with you my particularly enlightening experience within your establishment, the name of which seems, in practice, to resonate in a singularly ironic way in view of the managerial and infantilizing methods that are deployed there.

Traveling in France requires adherence to common rules, but the behavioral inquisition your staff engages in goes beyond mere courtesy and borders on an intolerable intrusion into your customers' private lives. Forbidding me from enjoying a beer of my choice on the premises—under the fallacious and moralizing pretext of being located on the motorway network—demonstrates a profound ignorance of common sense. Given that an eight-hour night's rest naturally eliminates any risk associated with driving, your attempts to supplant public authority and the Highway Code are as ludicrous as they are illegitimate.

This desire for absolute control is further compounded by a complete lack of flexibility and empathy. Referring your customers to regional specialty shops or partner restaurants with opening hours clearly incompatible with the needs of a traveler demonstrates a regrettable disconnect from the realities of your business.

However, the height of dehumanization was reached when your staff simply refused to serve us a carafe of water, despite a seven-hour journey in sweltering heat. Beyond the profoundly cruel nature of this decision, I would like to remind you of the applicable legal provisions:

Article L121-11 of the French Consumer Code prohibits refusing to sell or provide services without legitimate grounds. Making access to running water conditional upon the forced purchase of miniaturized plastic bottles, charged at the exorbitant price of €3 each, amounts to an abusive and speculative business practice that preys on the physical hardship of your customers.

Refusing access to drinking water in accommodation, particularly during periods of heatwave alert, violates the most basic rules of health safety and hospitality incumbent upon an operator affiliated with the Vinci group.

Your organization appears to have confused the rigor of highway management with outdated methods of coercion, where immediate profit trumps human dignity. Be aware that this behavior will not go unpunished.

A copy of this will be sent to the services of the DGCCRF (Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control) so that your practices of forced sale of bottled water can be audited, as well as to consumer protection bodies.

I have no doubt that you will find in this situation an opportunity to re-educate your teams on the values ​​of hospitality that make our country famous, and from which your establishment has so blatantly excluded itself.

We stayed at this very pleasant hotel from Wednesday to Thursday, were very satisfied, and will definitely return on our travels. The restaurant was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. A lovely place that I highly recommend.

I hope this motorway concept will endure. There was a time when it was also possible to eat in Beaune. Now, only Port Lauragais remains on the motorways.
On the motorway, elsewhere, we only consume the food we bring with us.

An excellent bucolic and rural stopover, despite being on a motorway service area but well away from all the noise.

I'm a regular guest at this hotel, which is conveniently located right off the highway. It's quiet with amenities nearby. A particularly nice touch, and very rare, is the option to squeeze your own fresh lemon juice at breakfast. Thank you.

A very convenient hotel when passing through on the Canal du Midi, and very good for the usual services, however contrary to what appears on the website there is no "Bike Room", the bikes remain in racks outside in front of the entrance with your own lock, there are quite a few and the night watchman (who is not opposite) can theoretically deter any ill-intentioned people, but it is not a room in the proper sense (closed room) as can be found in other hotels.

I would say that it's a very good hotel and restaurant; I advise travelers to stop there for their greater good.
