In Dordogne, the small town of Montcaret is located in the Bergeracois halfway between Bergerac and Libourne. The Gallo-Roman villa of Montcaret

This major site was classified as a Historic Monument in 1926 and is now part of the heritage managed by the National Monuments. With its private thermal baths and exceptional mosaics, this villa, one of the richest in France and Europe for the Gallo-Roman period, was built around the year 300. Visit in fine weather: a 60 m2 polylobed room, a vast 350 m2 reception, the private thermal baths, the inner courtyard with peristyle.
