The Greater Avignon

Avignon, historic City of the Popes, prefecture of the Vaucluse department is today at the heart of Greater Avignon, an urban area that extends beyond the perimeter of the eponymous Community of Communes. This territory includes 56 communes in the three departments of Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône and Gard to form a catchment area of ​​approximately 400 inhabitants.

Avignon North Le Pontet

It only partially spans the Rhône, from the left bank, the arches that collapsed having never been rebuilt. The Saint-Bénézet chapel, built at the height of the 2nd arch, has been preserved.
