Reims a UNESCO World Heritage Site

The Reims region has five religious buildings on the World Heritage List. In the city of Reims

- The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims, which for eight centuries was the place of coronation of the kings of France.

- The former royal abbey of Saint Remi from the 17th and 18th centuries now houses the Saint-Remi museum: history of the abbey, Reims in the Gallo-Roman era, regional archaeology, military history from the Gallic Wars to 1870.

- The Basilica of Saint-Remi, a jewel of Romanesque art in the North of France, built in the 11th century to house the holy ampulla and the relics of Saint Remi, the bishop who baptized Clovis in 498.

- The Palais du Tau: Classical architecture since the transformation works of the end of the 17th century. Today a museum of the work of Notre-Dame which preserves the talisman of Charlemagne, the chalice of Saint-Remi and originals of the church statuary.
